Fellowshipping in the Home

Our September fellowship supper group was a small one, so one couple in our church offered to have the meal in their home, instead of at the church. What a wonderful idea!

Their home is on a creek, and the views from the dock were serene at twilight.

We enjoyed visiting on the deck before dinner.

 After a delightful meal around their table -- lasagna, mac/cheese, breadsticks, chicken tetrazzini and other delicious dishes -- we gathered on the deck again as darkness fell.

 These are the simple times of fellowship, especially in a small church, that make us more like family and less like a group of people who just happen to see each other for an hour on Sunday. These times are real fellowship.

Another small but mighty group is our Ladies' Bible Study, which meets on Monday afternoons at one lady's home. We had eight (out of nine) of us there on Monday to start off our autumn study, so we took a "selfie"!

Our conversations are honest about the spiritual topics that matter so much to us, that are on our minds as we age, matters about family that are important to us as women. This is a great bunch of ladies, and we are so thankful for each other!

Three New Studies!

The Book of Revelation -- 

on Sunday mornings at 10:00
Come study along with us as Pastor Adam shows us the structure of the book, and how it makes this sometimes puzzling book make sense.

"What Does the Bible Say About ________"  
-- on Wednesday nights at 7:00

We've given Pastor Adam a long list of topics we'd like to discuss to find out what Scripture 

has to say about them.We'll look at topics like forgiving others, abortion, burial practices,

and many other interesting topics.

Ladies' Bible Study - on Mondays at 2:30

in the next few weeks,

Even Better Than Eden by Nancy Guthrie.

December Ladies' Lunch

The ladies decided to squeeze in a fun ladies' gathering and lunch before the Christmas season got us all too busy. Martha invited us to her relaxing home. The day was warm enough for us to all sit on the porch and enjoy Martha's soup and cheese biscuits, an assortment of salads, and Edna's light key lime pie.

I should've gotten a photo while everyone was still there, but I forgot! The afternoon was so perfect; we ladies sat on the porch and talked for two and a half hours. It's wonderful to have such close friends right in our own church.

Ladies' Get-Together!

We Pamlico Presbyterian ladies love to spend time together. We've studied books together, combined our salads and soups for dinners with each other, and had a lovely bridal shower too. But this past Monday we got together just ... well, to get together!

We met at Sally's house.

 Rose, a very dear lady among us, celebrated a very special birthday, but we won't say which one. However, she looks so young, you could not possibly guess!

 Her great-granddaughter was visiting to help us celebrate too. We had cake, pie, and lots of talking and laughter.

Some of these ladies do not like to have their pictures taken, so I had to be sneaky. We had a lovely time simply enjoying each others' company for a couple of hours, which is sometimes hard to do at church on Sundays when there are responsibilities, or there are husbands who are eager to go home. Ladies like to visit. I'm sure we'll be doing this again!

Our First Ladies' Salad Supper

 Many of our church ladies gathered at Martha Barlow's home on Monday night for a pot-luck salad supper. Look at those smiling faces! We had a fabulous time of friendship, not to mention the excellent spread of food:
