Announcement:

Pastor Adam has instructed that all our church's services and activities will be discontinued immediately, until at least April 5, 2020. He will notify the church when services can resume. During this time of uncertainty, continue to reach out and stay in touch, and keep each other in prayer.

"Thy Word Is a Lamp Unto My Feet" ~

"... and a light unto my path."  Psalm 119:105

We are thankful for the generous anonymous gift to our church of this pair of oil-burning candles.
We are reminded of the many passages in God's Word that speak of light. "You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden." Matt. 5:14
"For with You is the fountain of life, and in Your light do we see light." Psalm 36:9

We are a very small congregation and would be happy to have you come -- if you are feeling well. If you are feeling ill, please stay at home during this time. Seventh Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner!

At 2:00 on Thanksgiving Day, a wonderful crowd of 35 friends and family gathered in our fellowship hall for a feast.
Eating together is a spiritual event. Eating with the Lord among us, as Christians, is worship and joy.
One turkey baked in the oven; one fried in the parking lot with supervision.
Meanwhile a few ladies transformed the fellowship hall into an autumnal feasting location!
Pastor Adam baked his melt-in-your-mouth rolls.
And he whisked up some gravy.
Then our guests began to arrive.
This meal is open to anyone - church members, members of other churches, members of no church, friends, neighbors, strangers, passing boaters. Everyone is invited and welcomed.
Some guests arrived unexpectedly, so we swiped one of the food tables to give us more seating!
 Desserts:
Even vegetarian eaters found plenty to enjoy!
This is by far the largest Thanksgiving gathering we've had. Next year we'll need to rearrange our tables. What a delight it was to have everyone here.
The Lord's table is a big table, a table where each person brings an offering for everyone, a table of sharing and joy, a table to which all are invited and many come.
We hope, wherever you are this Thanksgiving, you share a table with others thankful to God for His provision, love, and care for us all.

Fellowshipping in the Home

Our September fellowship supper group was a small one, so one couple in our church offered to have the meal in their home, instead of at the church. What a wonderful idea!

Their home is on a creek, and the views from the dock were serene at twilight.

We enjoyed visiting on the deck before dinner.
After a delightful meal around their table -- lasagna, mac/cheese, breadsticks, chicken tetrazzini and other delicious dishes -- we gathered on the deck again as darkness fell.
These are the simple times of fellowship, especially in a small church, that make us more like family and less like a group of people who just happen to see each other for an hour on Sunday. These times are real fellowship.

Another small but mighty group is our Ladies' Bible Study, which meets on Monday afternoons at one lady's home. We had eight (out of nine) of us there on Monday to start off our autumn study, so we took a "selfie"!
Our conversations are honest about the spiritual topics that matter so much to us, that are on our minds as we age, matters about family that are important to us as women. This is a great bunch of ladies, and we are so thankful for each other!
